Wedding Makeup Don’ts

Wedding Makeup Don’ts. We suggest that you don’t try anything new a couple weeks prior to your wedding.

1. Don’t Try Anything New:

  • Avoid experimenting with new skincare products or makeup formulas close to your wedding day. Stick to what you know works well with your skin to prevent any allergic reactions or breakouts.

2. Don’t Overdo Trends:

  • While it's tempting to follow current makeup trends, remember that timeless elegance often outshines trendy looks. Opt for a classic, sophisticated makeup style that will stand the test of time.

3. Don’t Rush the Makeup Application:

  • Allow enough time for your makeup: So many brides want to wait until the last minute to do their makeup. Plan to have your makeup application finished hours before you walk down the aisle. A professional makeup artist uses long lasting makeup and will use a sealer to prolong the makeup to last all day and night. This is a high emotion and high stress day. Adding extra time in your “get ready time” schedule really helps reduce stress and makes things run smoothly.

4. Don’t forget your Neck:

  • Ensure your makeup seamlessly blends into your neck area to avoid a noticeable line of demarcation in photographs. This creates a cohesive and polished look.

5. Don’t forget about the Sun and Tan Lines:

  • We recommend staying out of the sun for a couple weeks before your wedding. You don’t want to be be burnt and red or further along on a sunburn and be peeling on your big day. If you are in the sun in the months leading up to your wedding be thinking of tan lines. What are you wearing and will those lines be covered by your dress?
