Things To Consider a Few Months before Your Wedding.

Preparing for your wedding day makeup application involves a mix of planning and preparation. Here’s a step-by-step guide to ensure you look flawless on your big day:

1. Things to consider a few months before your wedding.

  • Don’t start anything new: This is not the time to start a new skincare line or facial products. Start your skincare routine at least a few months before the wedding. Regularly cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize your skin to create a smooth canvas. We recommend trying a facial and dermaplaing a couple months before the wedding. A dermaplaning will remove the outer layer os dead skin cells and remove all of the vellus hair. If your skin does well with it get one the week of the wedding. It will leave your skin smooth, glowing, and provide a flawless makeup application.

  • Stay out of the Sun: A couple weeks before the wedding stay out of the sun so that you aren’t burnt or peeling on your wedding day (we have seen this). A few months before the wedding when you are in the sun think about tan lines. What kind of dress are you wearing and will these lines show?

  • Spray tan: If you are thinking of getting a spray tan think about trying one a couple months before the wedding. How does it look? Does it go well with your skin tone? Take some photos with it to see how it looks in photos.

  • Break in your shoes: Wear your shoes around the house once or twice a week. So many times I have heard girls say on the day of the wedding, “I need to break in my shoes.” You want to do this in the months before the wedding.

2. Consultation and Trial Run

  • Book a Trial: Schedule a makeup trial 3-12 months before the wedding. This allows you to experiment with different looks and find what suits you best.

  • Communicate Your Vision: Bring photos of makeup looks you like, and discuss your preferences with your makeup artist. Consider the style of your dress, venue, and overall theme of the wedding.

  • Test Products: If you have sensitive skin or allergies, test the products your makeup artist plans to use beforehand.

  • Take photos after your trial: This way you can see how it looks on camera. You will want to keep those photos for your makeup artist. She can use those photos to replicate your desired look.
